Program Goals

Short Term:

  • Stabilize behavior and emotional crisis.
  • Respect self, others and property.
  • Develop therapeutic relationship with program staff.
  • Adjust to program structure.
  • Develop a basic understanding of group process and socially acceptable behavior.
  • Recognize reasons for placement.
  • Begin to identify individual and family goals.
  • Begin to identify and express feelings appropriately.

Long Term:

  • Begin to explore and effectively deal with individual and family concerns.
  • Develop individual and family support system.
  • Improve family functioning and relationships.
  • Improve self-esteem.
  • Develop age appropriate behavior and accept responsibility of mental health.
  • Develop increasingly positive coping skills to utilize problem solving strategies to deal with conflictual relationships and mental health.
